Frozen Fish
The Oceana Group has several subsidiary divisions operating in the frozen fish sector. The fish is either sea frozen on board the trawlers or land frozen at the numerous factories situated in South Africa, Namibia and at various offshore factories. All frozen fish are exported under the strictest conditions, ensuring quality and absolute freshness at all times.
   
  Hake  
Blue Continent Products operates out of Cape Town with two sea freezing trawlers processing headed and gutted Hake, and a variety of Hake fillets. Production is exported under strict quality conditions in accordance with HACCP and EU regulations.

  Horse Mackerel  
Blue Continent has operations in South Africa, Namibia and Offshore for the harvesting, processing, trading and distribution of Horse Mackerel and related midwater pelagic fish. Processing on board its own vessels and procuring fish globally, BCP distributes predominantly to markets in Africa.

  Lobster  
Oceana Lobster produces frozen West Coast Rock Lobster products which include Whole Cooked, Whole Raw, Raw tails and Nitrogen Frozen Lobster. Packed in various grades and net masses, individually wrapped in polysheets (whole lobsters in polybags) and fingerlaid in corrugated cartons, the lobsters are blast frozen and stored and transported at below 20 degrees Celsius.

  Croaker  

Blue Continent Products also specialises in the procurement of frozen Croaker, Sea Trout, Pargo, Sabalo and Castaneta amongst other species. All Croaker and related fish are land frozen and packed in 20 kg cartons for distribution.

  Squid  
Oceana Squid is also involved in the catching and freezing of squid for export under the Calamari Fishing company. The company operates a fleet of five freezer vessels and manages contacts with up to 25 independent vessel owners. The squid are caught by hand-line jig method and immediately blast frozen at sea. HACCP approved vessels, landing, holding and processing facilities produce prime quality squid for export mainly to Europe and Japan.
