	Blue Continent Products specialises in the fishing, processing, procurement, international marketing, distribution and trading of local and foreign caught marine products.



		BCP catches, processes and distributes Horse Mackerel from its own vessels operating in South Africa and Namibia, as well as trading globally in Horse Mackerel and related midwater pelagic species.

South African Horse Mackerel

Specie: Horse Mackerel (Trachurus Trachurus/Capensis)
Origin: South Africa
Production: In excess of 60% of the total South African Horse Mackerel Quota is caught and processed by BCP on board its Moonzund type midwater trawler, the MFV "Desert Diamond". The fish is frozen on board at sea and packaged in 30kg cartons (each containing 3 x 10kg blocks). Product is packed under the popular "Desert Diamond" brand.

Namibian Horse Mackerel

Specie: Horse Mackerel (Trachurus Trachurus)
Origin: Namibia
Production: In Namibia, through its subsidiary Erongo Marine Enterprises, the group catches and processes more than 100,000 tons of Horse Mackerel and fishmeal per annum with its 3 owned Pulkovsky Meridian / BATM type vessels the MFV "Desert Rose", MFV "Desert Jewel" and MFV "Desert Ruby". The group also makes use of contracted trawlers. The fish is frozen on board at sea and packaged in 30kg cartons (each containing 3 x 10kg blocks). Product is packed under the “DameDame” brand.

BCP procures, through its Oceana International office, over 120,000 tons of midwater pelagic fish from the Pacific Ocean, South America, North Africa and the North Atlantic.
