Training and development

Oceana’s training and development policy is implemented by the central learning and development team, which reports to the Group Human Resources Executive. This policy supports the learning, growth and development of all employees and ensures a uniform and fair approach to learning and development. The group provides learning and development to all levels of employees.

During 2014, 1 339 employees were trained of whom 92.6% were black and 29.28% were female. The types of initiatives implemented, included:

  • Adult Education and Training (AET) (literacy)
  • Learnerships
  • Supervisory Skills Programme
  • Emerging Managers Development Programme
  • Leadership Management Development Programme
  • “Leader as a Coach” Programme
