Francois graduated from University of San Diego in 1991 with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree whereafter he joined his family’s US based fishing operations. He returned to South Africa in 1995 and assumed the role as managing director of Namibian Sea Products. He was appointed as chief executive officer of Irvin & Johnson Holdings Limited in 2006, and was appointed as Oceana Group Limited CEO effective July 2009.
