Barrie is a CA(SA) and also holds a B.Com (Honours) degree in information technology. In July 2001 Barrie joined Oceana as financial director of the Erongo Group in Walvis Bay and following restructuring in the Oceana Group, he was appointed financial director of Blue Continent Products in April 2005. On 1 October 2007 Barrie was appointed MD of Blue Continent Products.
